Thanks Dan, is there a website or more info about that people’s choice award. I’m updating the post with your contests but I couldn’t find a site referencing this.
Thanks,
Brian
Brian,
The website for the people’s choice is the same as for the Awards of Excellence. You can see the 2011 Awards of Excellence winners here http://nbbqa.org/Default.aspx?pid=218
The National BBQ News conducts a contest called the “Sauces of Honor” where you submit sauces to be tasted on Beef, Pork, and/or Chicken. Pretty cool contest!
Look for it around mid April. No Attendance required. There is an entry fee and it takes place in Douglas, GA.

I hope this helps!!
Great list here, Jay! Is there a BBQ Sauce or Competitive Sauce journal or magazine out there? Your post here is one of the only places I think I’ve ever seen a comprehensive listing of sauce competitions.
Thanks, it’s brian. Jay does the BBQ tools and tech reviews.
wait till you try the Lava-Q at the zestfest in irving Texas. That sauce is a blast!
