Nephew’s Peachy ‘Potle BBQ Sauce (4/5)

This is a solid sauce with a good texture and a very good taste to go with it – Nephew’s knows how to mix fruit with BBQ Sauce. The trick is (I think) to make it a subtle yet noticeable characteristic whereas a trace of the marketed fruit component remains in the forefront of the sauce flavor profile. The sauce is a great mix of tang, peach, chipotle, and traditional bbq sauce.

Pigchaser Pineapple Mango BBQ Sauce (4/5)

Anyway – this sauce is good, almost great – a sweet thick BBQ sauce with enough Pineapple and Mango to add some fun. There are chunks of real pineapple and mango floating around in the bottle and the consistency is also excellent and thickens up nicely when grilled. There are no offensive ingredients in the bottle but it lacked complexity (I would have liked a little heat in here) and the label is kinda lame – but a good joke like the cows in the chick-filet commercials … but if this is on the store shelves, it’s not sure this label is selling me to pick it up.

Midwest Best Barbecue Sauce Review (4/5)

Midwest Best Barbecue Sauce.  The name makes you think is from a simple, understated state like Ohio that’s not too fancy and not too flashy.  And you be correct, sir. That’s too bad, in my opinion.   This Ohio-an sauce presents itself in a far too subtle manner to reveal what they are trying to express […]

Three Little Pigs KC Sweet BBQ Sauce (5/5)

The sauces taste real, and natural, and with just over 10 ingredients, there’s no mass produced or artificial flavors at all in here. Try picking up a bottle and tasting the sauce while reading the label… I found that you can taste almost every ingredient in this sauce if you concentrate on it. This is quite rare in a sauce.

Outta the Park Hot & Spicy Barbecue Sauce (5/5)

“it reminds me of the hot and spicy and ginger-sweet experience that I might experience while eating a plate of sushi – but without the nose stinging of the wasabi…”

Picky Vicki Brazenly Bold BBQ Sauce (4/5)

The first sniff is nice, and it had a hint of habanero. The flavor is complex and full. It’s sweet, salty, and spicy – not firey but just a smidgeon of heat to warm up the mouth and lips. Was hoping for something a bit thicker, but I gotta tell you, this is a tasty sauce that shouldn’t be overlooked.

Golden Blends Barbeque Sauce (3/5)

The sauce smells good with a pleasing blend of tomato spices and vinegar and not so tangy. The flavor backs it up and the mix is good. The flavor is smooth, smoky and sweet with a good amount of garlic and onion flavors. There is not much new in terms of originality here but it works … I do wish it was a bit thicker though, as this tended to slide off the chicken when I grilled out with it. Standard ingredients with HFCS but notably does not include artificial colors or preservatives AND includes horseradish.

Blenders Spicy Barbecue Sauce (4/5)

Jeri Blender needs to be commended here; she was doing all-natural sauces long before it was cool. And if you get the chance, I have to point out that this product also has some of the best marketing I’ve seen with an amazing story, and long history, great colors schemes and brand identity, and a great website to match.
