Sauce Giveaways

How BBQ Sauce Giveaways Work on BBQ Sauce Reviews

WHY GIVEAWAY SAUCE?

People love free stuff and your business needs more exposure.  My site connects these two goals.  My site is ranked high for “best bbq sauces” (between 1-5 in Google) and gets a LOT of traffic from real BBQ sauce lovers.  Giving free samples of your sauce to this audience will increase your awareness with a set of folks from high atop the BBQ sauce community. If they like it, they might buy your sauce again from you, or better yet blog about it, or promote it… hopefully leading to more sales for you.  With a giveaway, you can also boost the number of Facebook fans, Twitter followers, or have folks sign up for an email list.

HOW IT WORKS

We decide on a Giveaway date (usually a Friday) and over a thousand people that follow the site will get notified (through email, Facebook, and Twitter). They comment on the site and potentially “Like” your Facebook page.  Some contests have over 50 comments/entries. Then you or I pick the winners. Then you (BBQ Sauce vendor) ship out the prizes directly to the winners.

MANDATORY MINIMUM = 4 WINNERS

I require that each contest has at least 4 winners.   Anything above that will increase the likelihood that a lot of people will comment on it – some contest have had up to 36 winners!   You can have a grand prize and some smaller prizes, or just give a bottle of BBQ Sauce to each winner.  Having better prizes means you may have more comments and means your giveaway can “live on the front page of BBQSauceReviews.com” for an extended amount of time.

Please check out http://www.bbqsaucereviews.com/ and see the front page “Most Comments”  and you will see that many of the most popular posts on the site are the giveaways!

WINNERS ARE RANDOM

After the contest, I use the random.org random number generator to identify the winners.  This is the most reliable way to provide winners without favoritism or bias.

YOU SHIP THE SAUCE

After the contest, winners will email you their address.   You are responsible for collecting the addresses and shipping out the sauce to the winners.

WON’T THIS BE EXPENSIVE?

Promoting your sauce on a popular BBQ Sauce blog for this cheap (simply the cost of sauce and shipping) might not be possible in the future. The target audience is perfect and the site is followed by a passionate crowd who sometimes buys the sauces just to see if they agree with the main reviewer, Brian Henderson. There are no fees, simply an agreement to give away prizes to at least 3 winners.
