This sauce from Belair Maryland has a nice label and a nice story. But Picky Vicki touches one of my pet peeves having to do with a label that could be more thoughtful. I wish she would have catered the text on the label to be specific to this sauce, instead she provides a generic catch-all story about being from the South and how she brought family traditions and recipes with her. Nice, but I want to know more about this specific sauce and why I should buy it instead of your other sauce!
The first sniff is nice, and it had a hint of habanero. The flavor is complex and full. It’s sweet, salty, and spicy – not firey but just a smidgeon of heat to warm up the mouth and lips. Was hoping for something a bit thicker, but I gotta tell you, this is a tasty sauce that shouldn’t be overlooked.
