This week’s review is on the Steven Raichlen Best of Barbecue Insulated Food Gloves.
These food gloves are made of insulated rubber and help to protect your hands while removing meats from your grill or smoker like pork butts, briskets and other hot foods.
They’re also great for pulling hot pork butts and other meats as well.
These food gloves are for use with hot food only. (temperatures up to 248°F)
For my review on these food gloves I decided to try them out on a pork butt I smoked on my pellet grill.
As you can see in the picture below I removed the hot pork butt directly from the smoker and brought it into the house to rest before pulling. I felt no heat come through the gloves at all when removing the pork butt.
After I let the pork butt rest for an hour, it was time to pull.
The first thing I did after putting the food gloves back on was to remove the bone from the pork butt.
I then started pulling the hot pork butt into smaller chunks as you can see in the pictures below.
Final Thoughts
I thoroughly enjoyed using the Steven Raichlen Best of Barbecue Insulated Food Gloves and they worked really well while removing the hot pork butt from my pellet grill. They also did a great job of protecting my hands while pulling the hot pork butt.
These food gloves were very easy to clean with hot soapy water, just be sure not to get the inside of them wet or it will take a couple days for them to dry out.
I really couldn’t find anything I didn’t like about these food gloves. They worked exactly as advertised and did a fantastic job at that.
If you’re in the market for an affordable pair of insulated food gloves, these should be at the top of your list!
